The Hearing Instrument Specialists Society of BC (HISS-BC) is the voluntary, nonprofit professional association representing the interests of government licensed Hearing Instrument Practitioners of British Columbia, Canada. Founded in 1988, the Society continues to recognize the need for promoting and maintaining the highest standards for its members in the best interest of the hard of hearing consumer.

Hearing Instrument Specialists are GOVERNMENT LICENSED HEARING HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS who specialize in the practice of testing human hearing for the purpose of selecting, fitting and dispensing hearing instruments. A variety of occupational titles are commonly used: Hearing Aid Consultant, Hearing Instrument Dispenser and Hearing Instrument Practitioner.
